A Sparkly Saturday at Chateau Elan

I just starting interning with the wonderful Chancey Charm, and this Saturday I got to experience my first wedding with the team! I assisted the lovely Brie Owens, the head wedding coordinator for the Atlanta group of Chancey Charm planners, with an elegant wedding at Chateau Elan.

I have to admit, I needed to stay home and study for finals this weekend, but I've been wanting to see this venue for quite some time. I've heard of people from UGA having sorority formal at this venue, and all I've got to say to that is HOW? Between busses from Athens, venue rental fees, bar service, a DJ, and special touches, I think I would have used up my date night budget for the entire semester if I'd tried to have Alpha Gam formal here! Worth it?? Probably. This place is an actual dream.

The bride and groom, Sarah and Brad, had both their ceremony and reception at this venue. It was a Jewish wedding so I got to see some interesting touches and traditions. I decorated parts of the reception space and made sure the estate table was perfectly labeled for the bridal party with stunning rose gold nameplates. I double checked the ceremony seating and set-up, and made sure the Jewish ketubah was perfectly in place for the ceremony. I also welcomed guests, made sure they grabbed their escort cards and helped keep the ceremony timeline rolling. I reminded vendors to make announcements, talked with caterers about dietary needs for guests, helped answer questions throughout the night, and was a go-to gal for the bride and groom during the reception.

I love assisting with wedding because I can see my to-do list being completed right in front of my own eyes! It's exciting to help a couple on their big day, and getting to spend the day in a flower-filled environment is just icing on the cake. (Speaking of cake, theirs was something).

From sticking all the nameplates into the forks so they didn't blow away to giving the bride a last-minute tissue before she walked down the aisle, wedding days are organized chaos and an absolute blast. With so much to do and so much to see, I truly feel like wedding days are something I want to experience again and again, and I'm so excited to continue learning about this industry
